Sunday (rest)
…we took a train to Battle.
In the afternoon we went to Battle, where the Battle of Hastings took place on October 14th 1066. There we watched a video about the battle and after that we looked at the buildings. The small Battle Abbey was built by William the Conqueror after the battle.
In the evening we went back to our host mother Lisa.

Monday, 28.09. Third Day
That was our first day at school. We walked to school. Our teacher was called Fiona. We spoke English with her all morning. After that we ate our packed lunch with ham and cheese sandwich and a bag of ready salted potato crisps. It tasted very nice.
In the afternoon of our third day we went to the Post Office. The boys bought postcards and stamps. In a small shop I bought sweets and later I talked to the people in Oxfam, a charity shop. I bought a silver necklace there to help poor people. It was only 1 pound because it was second hand.

Tuesday, 29.09 Fourth Day
After school in the morning we went to Unterwater World. There were many kinds of fish, for example sharks, sea horses and sea stars.
Later in the afternoon we also went to the Fishermen`s Museum on the beach.
Cute fish!
I like them best!
Be careful! Dangerous animals.
We climbed on the deck.

Wednesday, 30.09. Fifth Day
At 9 o`clock we went to school again. Every morning we learned about different things. One day we talked about our favourite animals.
After lunch we played on the beach. The whole afternoon we waited for the low tide. When it arrived we played on the wet sand. We drew pictures in the sand. The teachers sat on the beach and watched and talked.
I liked the blue channel.
That evening Chantal and I watched TV with our host mother Lisa. We saw the film “Lord of the Rings”, the episode with the running trees. It was scary.

Thursday, 1.10. Sixth Day
We visited Hever Castle by coach. It was the seat of the Boleyn family and was built in the
13th century. Anne Boleyn grew up at Hever Castle and later became Queen of England as Henry VIII´s second wife in 1533. Because of this marriage the Church of England became independent from Rome (from the Catholic Church). Henry and Anne had one daughter, who later became Queen Elizabeth I.
There also was a famous maze and a water maze. Some of us got wet. We had a lot of fun at Hever Castle.

Friday, 2.10. Seventh Day
That was our last day at school. We said good bye to our teacher Fiona and she gave us a certificate. We were happy about it.
After school we went to the ruins of Hastings Castle. There we saw a film about the Battle of Hastings called “The 1066 Story”. Later in the afternoon we went to Hastings Adventure Golf and played mini golf.
In the evening we packed our suitcase.

Saturday 3.10. Last Day
We said goodbye to our host mother and to her three cats. Then we waited for the bus close to the beach. It was raining. After 1 hour the bus came and took us straight to the airport in Gatwick. We ate our packed lunch in the airport and then we flew back home to our parents. They were waiting for us at Schönefeld Airport. Thanks to our teachers, Mrs. Diesner and Mr. Stelter, we had a wonderful time in England.

PS.
I forgot some clothes. Lisa sent them later to my Auntie Totty in Edinburgh, where I spent my autumn holidays in October.
